If . . . sentences (Conditionals)

If . . . sentences are used to describe or imagine the consequences of events. There are three basic types of conditional sentences:

1 First conditional

2 Second conditional

3 Third conditional

There is also one extra type of If . . . sentences and it's called

'Mixed' conditional
